The Problem
Lack of Relevant and Appropriate Study Materials
As a language learner, especially at the early stages, it's critical to have level appropriate texts to practice reading and work on reading comprehension. Often, graded readers are not relevant or interesting to you, or they are too child-like. This is the issue my husband faces as he studies for his HSK exams.
The Solution
Build HSK Reader, an app that translates any English news or blog article into natural sounding Chinese at the appropriate level.
Results

Reflection &
Key Learnings

Understand the limitations of each AI tool used and use the tool that's best suited to the task. Lovable is great for vibe-coding and building without needing developer experience. ChatGPT is helpful for debugging and as a sounding board for product development.

Progress over perfection. It's better the launch the MVP and get feedback than to attempt to perfect the app before anyone sees it. Real, human feedback is infinitely more valuable.
