Professional Experience

Instructional Designer

July 2024 - February 2025

  • ​Design and develop internal enablement materials, including workshops and eLearning, to foster a culture of learning and empower department managers to create, standardize, and scale team onboarding

  • Implement and optimize the digital adoption platform (Appcues) in collaboration with developers, ensuring seamless data integration to standardize onboarding, drive product-led growth, and scale effectively

  • Design and develop in-app onboarding materials for SMB customers  in collaboration with SMEs, ensuring content follows a logical and progressive flow, preventing information overload and delivering the right guidance at the right time

Instructional Designer II
July 2021 - July 2024

  • Major project - consolidate 3 existing LMSs into 1

    • Work closely with stakeholders to communicate and manage expectations 

    • Consulted with course authors and advised on the optimal way to build their programs in a new LMS that has different features and functionalities

    • Develop enablement materials that are specific to our organization’s configuration of the new LMS to reduce number of meetings and to quickly address commonly encountered issues

  • Design and build product training courses, videos, and diagrams to increase customer adoption and reduce repetitive training time, so that implementation teams can optimize their limited time with customers

  • Collaborate with technical SMEs to distill their expertise and best practices into beginner friendly, bite-sized content

  • Standardize and document course authoring, image, and video creation standards to ensure consistency between team and others that are creating customer facing training materials

  • Support global customers by troubleshooting LMS and content related issues to ensure the best customer experience

Learning Specialist

April 2014 - July 2021

  • Facilitate learning for groups of varying ages and ethnicities by establishing expectations and objectives, giving concise instructions, providing timely feedback, and classroom management

  • Create and develop engaging learning activities and presentations tailored to individual and group needs for in person and online environments (Microsoft Teams)

    • For core courses (beginner to proficiency levels), electives, and standardized testing courses (Cambridge FCE and IELTS)

    • Groups of up to 15 for duration of 10-12 weeks

  • Partner with stakeholders to conduct needs analysis for internal training needs

    • Collaborate with subject matter experts

    • Identify gaps in knowledge and skills

    • Determine priority in addressing gaps and balancing available resources

  • Develop internal online training on LMS (Moodle) to fill identified knowledge gaps,

    • Storyboard, record and edit Instructional videos

    • Create formal and informal assessment tools and active learning activities

  • Provided exceptional customer service through detailed initial consultations, understanding and clarifying expectations, and delivering on time and on budget

  • Collaborated with local Vancouver restaurant to create unique cookie flavours that complemented their menu

  • Catered a 2013 Vancouver International Film Festival reception, in addition to birthdays, business networking events, and weddings
